Individuals with disabilities should make an effort to understand just as much as they are able to about their condition, and what services would best benefit them. If the disabled person is unable to achieve this, then family and friends can be very helpful in this effort. Additionally, there are professional advocates, counselors and others who are able to help provide the best services for disabled persons. In short, there are various ways a disabled individual can receive lots of practical and emotional support.
